Thanks. Now I know at least what I'm capable of if I have an outline and know what direction I'm going in when I start. It would have gone slower I think if I was starting from scratch. Good exercize though.

Thanks. Even missing six days over the month, I found it wasn't so hard to catch up at the end. Now I think I can break it down in pieces and make articles and maybe start putting out Exactly again. Or, make a better structure and actually think of a book. It's only about half done.

Wow! You were watching! I looked at the last couple of days after my computer broke down (again), and wondered if I'd make it. I actually missed a day in there, and thought I had three days left, but really had only two. It creeps up on you. So I knew I'd write a lot on Monday, but instead of stopping at 5,000 the way I thought I would I just kept going, and pretty soon, I had to get to the end no matter what. I was a tad fried by 4 a.m. but it was worth it. And I slept really well :)

I am inspired by you, you know. You're the real writer down the street, and I just wanted to see what I could do. It's just nice to know I can do 10,000 words in a day in a pinch. It's still only part way done, but I've been meaning to write this for a good five or six years now. So in that way, I'm slow!

At first I thought I'd do half, then the other half (of almost 10,000 words) but once I got going I just kept going (for about 6.5 hours.) Then when I went over the 50k line, it didn't matter how tired I was, I had to jump through the little hoops to post it on NaNo. Then they gave me an icon, so I had to post it on LJ. I really ended about 3:30 p.m., but all the posting stuff took about half an hour.

Excellent! Glad to hear it, lady. I tried NaNoWriMo twice and didn't make it out of the first week. I'm seriously impressed.

It helped me a lot to plan ahead. I had a two page outline to work from, and once I started, it seemed to flow, as though it were waiting a long time to be written. But then, I also found I could do it for six or seven hours at a time (well yesterday, before that was only four hour stretches), and that is just pure stamina. I already knew I had that.

They only let you post 10,000 words at the NaNo site. I'll send you an exerpt I sent to athenais about epiphanies. Since my old regular computer is down and I haven't reloaded my address book, if you email me at t vining at oz dot net I will send you something. I don't have an address book yet on my new to me computer. Which just got back online after the ethernet card ran out.

The rest of it is only about half finished, but could be taken apart into shorter pieces, or restructered into a longer piece. I'm going to keep writing but think about what I want to do with it.
