Home again, home again, jiggity jig.

I'm not the same person as I was Thursday, as I have just gotten back from a plane ride that said it took 3 hours but my mind and body knew it took 6 (left at 8a.m. got in at 11a.m.), and I saw cool cool stuff when I wasn't trying to sleep (because I couldn't sleep last night). Like, the continental divide from 35,000 feet on a gorgeous sunny day, then the continental shelf falling away to become a great link of volcanos waiting to go off like firecrackers, the firecracker that was Mt. St. Helen's already spent and off to the side of Baker and Rainier, and 2 in the distance that weren't listed on my little map. And a good conversation that lasted off and on for over 2,000 miles with the painter with kids from India sitting next to me. I'm happy. And very very tired.

Did you have a good time at the con?

Lovely!

I had an amazing time at the con. I'm still kind of spacey from it, though. I was sooo tired, but still writing down things. I have a lot of work to do I think. Inspired.

I saw Lake Erie from my plane! I never knew it was so sandy and such a blue-green color around the edges. And huge.

I feel like all my different selves came together at the convention, musician and fan and writer and reader, Seattle and New York and London and San Francisco. I feel whole.

Sometimes I would grab the flight magazine and look up where we were on the flight path. I also had my little binoculars, which Patti, the painter/artist sitting next to me asked to borrow once. I could look straight down sometimes. Then I'd get very sleepy and I think I actually slept an hour.

I'm almost afraid to be happy. I'll have to write some more on that. It was great seeing you. Really great.

Glad to hear you had a good time! I wondered where you were at Vanguard.

Great to meet you

at the Tor party! I've added you, if that's OK.

I am sorry I missed the LJ party, as I think that could have been really interesting.

Recover well!

World cons...I'm getting to the place where I could do those again too. [Idea bulb forms in thought balloon over her head] Write about some of your adventures so us stay-at-homes this year can participate vicariously.
